Our summer program
Kids swim a recommended 2–5 times per week, building to one or two practices a day for older swimmers. Group placements are made by the coaches based on a blend of age and ability.
The Boundary Bay Bluebacks are a community summer swim club where kids ages 5 to adult find their stroke, their fitness, and their people.
The Bluebacks offer swim training, healthy competition and genuine team support to kids ages 5 to adult. Whether your swimmer has just found the deep end or is chasing a personal best, there's a lane here for them.
We run developmental groups for kids who have the basics but are new to racing, right up to advanced training focused on technique, endurance and speed. As a member of the BC Summer Swimming Association, our main program runs May through August, with a maintenance program up to twice a week in the off-season.
New to us and aged 5–6? If your swimmer can cover 15 metres unassisted and is comfortable with their face in the water, they'll start in a low-ratio development group after a quick swim assessment.
Practices most days, optional weekend meets, and a maintenance option to keep it going through fall and winter.

The best part of summer. Meets build confidence and friendships while teammates cheer each other on. Attendance isn't mandatory, and your fees already include meet costs (no-shows excepted).

Keep your stroke sharp year-round. Maintenance runs up to twice a week per BCSSA rules. Swimmers who trained during the regular season are welcome back first, space permitting.
We coach the whole climb, from a first width of the pool to Fraser South Regionals and BCSSA Provincials, with fun and friendly competition at every step.
Our coaches are the heart of the club, and many of them started as swimmers right here on the deck. The Bluebacks Coaching Pathway gives young leaders a clear route from volunteer coach all the way to head coach, backed by real training and mentorship.
Curious about the people who keep the club running? Our board and everything you need to know lives in the B4 Blue Book.
The full season is $595 (May–August) and includes every practice, dryland training and meet fees. Spaces are limited, so reserve your swimmer's lane today.
Key club dates plus our full 2026 meet schedule. Attendance at meets is optional but always more fun with the team.
